We are heading to Chamonix on Saturday for 6 amazing days of powdery goodness and the excitement for this ski trip has been building with every snow flake that has fallen. And there have been a LOT of snow flakes…. (We’re talking a 330cm base. ‘Nuff said.)
The packing part of the trip has taken a little bit of work; this is the first proper snow village we’ve been to, so I don’t really know what to expect yet…
– Do I take a woollen coat as well as well as my ski jacket (which is so much extra weight)?
– Will I need shoes to wear before I put my boots on?
– Will we be getting changed before we head out to apres ski or will we go straight to the bar from a day on the slopes?
– Will I need something a little dressy – just.in.case – or will my comfy jeans and a sweater cut it?
You can see my dilema… And no, I haven’t answered any of these questions yet (I haven’t packed yet either despite the fact that we leave for part 1 of our trip tomorrow) but I know that after a day in the most amazing powder this little cookie has seen, what I’m wearing won’t matter; the buzz of it all will be dominating my thought patterns.
In the meantime – to procrastinate packing – I’ve put together a look I think would work in a ski town after a day on the slopes where it can be both dressy and casual but most of all comfortable.
