I am an absolute sucker for an upturned collar – whether it be on a coat, a shirt, a polo or a dress; I love that preppy look. And no one seems to do this look better than one of my favourite fashion bloggers, Bee from Atlantic-Pacific.
Bee seems to have an innate sense of how to style this fashion look with the perfect accompaniments – the right amount of layers, the accessories, the hair and makeup – all to create a look that has the right amount of style and prep.
Using Bee as my inspiration, I have put together an interpretation of how I would wear the upturned colour look – using of course my favourite styling platform that is Polyvore.
Starting with the shirt, I chose this Scotch and Soda checkered shirt which has the aforementioned collar but is offset by the pretty colour, keeping the look feminine. Next I went with these Victoria Beckham skinny Delta jeans with I love for the tuxedo stip down the side, adding a bit of interest to an otherwise plain pair of jeans.
I complimented the collared shirt with this gorgeous Yigal Azrouel Tweed Jacket from Far Fetch which has a great side zip and some detail in the pockets, and the interwoven colours matching perfectly with the Scotch and Soda shirt. To finish the look off, I chose these grungy yet chic Jimmy Choo Biker Boots and these oh-so-pretty Vintage Chanel Hammer Earrings.
An upturned collar look with the perfect balance of hard and pretty.
